It All Started In A Garage

Alphawerks is a custom automotive visual solutions installer based in Santa Clara, CA. Our team is made up of car enthusiasts who specialize in taking excellent care of your vehicle. Alphawerks provides custom automotive visual services including paint protection film, vinyl wrapping, paint correction, ceramic coating, and window tinting.

We walk customers through the entire process, providing customer education and setting expectations for what you can expect before we lay a hand on your car. We take pride in ensuring every customer is satisfied no matter what, and provide one of the longest warranties in the region to back up our claims to quality.

We can help you pick all the right changes to make your car uniquely yours, polish and protect your paint to last in factory-fresh condition, and love spending time with customers to discuss all your ideas, and add some of our own as well.

We were founded in 2017 by Dave Thornhill, and are assembling a team of passionate and talented car enthusiasts to expand the Alphawerks brand and experience.

Dave

Founder, Master Installer, Co-Owner

Dave started vinyl wrapping in 2014, changing the color on his E92 BMW roundel after getting frustrated with other aftermarket options. Over the next three years, he dabbled in vinyl while working other jobs, but fully committed to DW Vinylwerks in 2017. DW Vinylwerks became Alphawerks, and grew from his grandma’s garage to the current location in Santa Clara.

Jonathan

Vinyl and PPF Installer

Jonathan began working with Dave in March of 2021. Trained as a diesel truck technician, his mechanical skills quickly transitioned over to efficient disassembly and reassembly of cars for vinyl and PPF installation. He has continued to pick up skills, now acting as an installer and prepper on all vinyl, tint, and PPF jobs. Outside of work, he brings his bagged 3G Acura TL or wrapped WRX to shows and track days.

Edgar

Vinyl and PPF Installer

Edgar began working with Alphawerks in October of 2021. He made his entrance to the industry by wrapping his own 2003 Celica off Youtube videos. After working at another shop for a year, we were lucky to bring him on the team. He has a degree from San Jose State University in Graphic Design, and is our main contributor to any design work we do. Outside of work, he loves the Warriors and playing basketball.

Toast (Dog)

Executive Chairman

Toast assumed the Chairman role at Alphawerks in March 2022. He started his career as a professional Football player, but quickly decided this was too easy and instead left to run a covert military unit in the mountains of central New Zealand. Seeking a new challenge, he found his way to running the largest gold mine in Pennsylvania, where he grew gold yield 200% in 3 years. Winding down his career, he’s excited to spend his retirement years in his most difficult job yet - giving a one-time 5% discount to people who have read this far on our website. Outside of work, he enjoys eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom.

Our team specializes in many different types of vehicles, and since they work on a wider variety of vehicles than their dealer counterparts, their overall expertise is greater, too. By working on many makes and models, our technicians can be trusted to properly diagnose challenging repairs and other issues. As automotive technology advances, our team is continually updating their education & skills.
